If you are new to the game, here are some infomation for you before Guild Wars. When you are first in the game, you will be first in a tutorial area that can help you to get used to the game. Don't worry you don't know how play, for when you are there, there will be many tips to guide you. The Ascalon is not under attack and the landscape is idyllic.  King Adelbern sees that the Charr, Ascalon's northern neighbors, are amassing a great force. So the King puts out a call for all heroes that are ready to join him and the army at the front gates of Ascalon City. Players should use this peaceful moment in time to prepare their characters for the game before the attack. This tutorial area is referred to as pre-Searing because the great battle for Ascalon, known as the Searing, hasn’t begun yet.

Once a player’s hero is prepared and chooses to follow King Adelbern's call at the front gate, there will be no back to the prologue area, so this period of time is very important for you to get used to the game. You can learn how to move, trade, buy things, sell things, fight, go on quests and other basics of the game. The main quest in pre-Searing will be to choose a secondary profession. You can try out any of the classes before you must make a permanent decision. In order to learn about the different professions, your character needs to find class trainers, who will give you an evaluation quest and some of the skills and abilities of that class, which you can use to complete the quest. Once you have completed the evaluation, you will be given the chance to pursue more abilities in that class, thus making your choice of secondary profession a permanent one. You can also choose to do that later if you first want to try out other classes.

Once you select a permanent secondary profession you'll be able to really explore outside and see the wonders of this world – and the outcome of the Searing.

Equipment needed: Ebon scythe. To make an ebon scythe, unlock an Ebon Scythe Snathe from the Priest of Balthazar for 1,000 faction, or unlock one in PvE.  Ebon Dust Aura will not work without an ebon scythe.

Concept:
Melee shutdown, repeated Blindness and Crippling, survival. Designed to fight against physical attackers, especially Warriors, this Dervish can close on a group of melee characters and repeatedly shut them down with constant Blindness and Crippling. In addition, the Blinding Dervish does a respectable amount of damage while keeping itself alive, meaning it can split from a group if needed or form part of a damage spike. The ebon weapon (needed for Ebon Dust Aura) does more damage to Warriors than a physical damage scythe would because Warriors have armour that gives them natural resistance to physical damage. Pious Haste not only provides a speed boost and self-Enchantment removal, but also generates Energy through your Mysticism bonus.

Skill Rationale:
This build centers on Ebon Dust Aura, although realistically, many combinations of skills work with this elite Enchantment. Crippling Sweep works to apply an additional Condition besides Blindness, making it harder to remove both of them. Crippling has the dual purpose of defence and offence. A Crippled melee character can’t keep up with your allies, while a Crippled target can’t run away from you. Vital Boon enhances your maximum Health, meaning the extra damage from Chilling Victory has a better chance of triggering. Victorious Sweep also works on the same principle, adding yet another self-heal. Pious Haste grants you extra speed to keep up with targets or escape from danger.
